Spring is one of my favorite seasons for fashion. Along with the warm weather comes bright colors and the ability to wear less layers.  Living in the Chicagoland area we all know about bundling up in the winter, so embracing the change is so refreshing!  I have a strong belief in updating, or changing, your look with accessories.  There are so many categories that accessories fall under including jewelry, handbags and sunglasses, just to name a few.  As fast as trends change in today’s society, it can be hard to spend a lot on certain items.  Here’s a few of my favorite accessories for this Spring season–at great prices!

Stella & DotChandelier Earrings
I absolutely love these earrings from Stella & Dot.  They’re available in the turquoise color, as well as the orange-red (as pictured).  These incorporate the bold color trend that has been so popular the past few seasons, and offer offer the elegant twist of a chandelier-style earring.  You can wear these for years to come.  Another great feature of these earrings is that they aren’t formal. I find that many chandelier earrings tend to have a much dressier feel, but these you can wear with a t-shirt and jeans!  How great is that?  They’re also lightweight. No one wants earrings that are killing you after two hours of wear.  As if these couldn’t get any better…they’re only $49!

Statement Necklace
One of my favorite accessories is the statement necklace.  This particular statement necklace has a tribal look to it, a huge spring 2012 trend. However, it’s still solid gold, making it an instant classic. I love statement necklaces worn with a blousy top and jeans or even with a tank top and jean shorts when it gets warmer out.  The great thing about statement necklaces are that they add a splash of trend and allow you to update a look without wearing a lot of pieces. They’re easy to wear, pair and put together, so you won’t have to put much thought into getting dressed. Can you believe this necklace is only $7.80!  How amazing is THAT?  This piece is from Forever 21–proof you can shop these fast fashion stores at any age!

Straw Tote
When I think spring and summer, I always think of straw-detailed handbags.  I saw this tote and instantly fell in love. It’s a straw tote with a twist. Although its actually made from straw material, it’s hard to tell in the picture because of the zigzag design and multi-colors.  This handbag is an updated version of the straw tote that’s on trend year after year.  That’s what I like most about this specific tote.  Since it’s made up of different shades of tan, it’s limitless! It can go with so many outfits. Also, since it’s a tote, it’s larger in size, which can be great for carrying things in the summer. The brand is Steven by Steve Madden, so you can purchase this bag at your local Nordstrom or online.  With a price of $98, it’s hard to resist!

Bangle Set
Stacked bangle bracelets are something every woman should have in their wardrobe.  You can pile them with different textures and colors to create your own unique look.  This set is a great example of mixing colors.  Wear them two or three at a time or the entire set, depending on what’s most comfortable for you. The great thing about these is that pairing the clear-stoned bangles with something that has a darker tone gives you the opportunity to wear them year-round!  This color combination is another great way to incorporate bold color trends in a small dose.  These bangles can be found at Bebe for $29!  They’re a great addition to anyone’s wardrobe.

These few pieces show that you don’t have to spend a ton to look and feel amazing!  Explore a store you wouldn’t typically shop in and cruise their accessories section. You may be pleasantly surprised at what you stumble across.  Have fun!
