Everyday Genealogy Desk Top Calendar Giveaway!

by Ashleigh on December 10, 2010

***Congratulations to the three winners of our Desk Top Genealogy Calendars: Mary Lou, Ede and Sandy M!!!  If you didn’t win this calendar and would like one, visit www.everydaygenealogy.com and enter the promo code SuburbanWoman for $2 off!  Also, stay tuned for our upcoming giveaway this Monday!***

::DRUM ROLL:: We’re kicking off the giveaway section of our blog (who doesn’t love free stuff!) and thought what better way than with a brand new desk top calendar for the New Year!  It gives you “a tip a day to make your genealogy blues go away.”  Tear off the top sheet to reveal the next day’s fun fact.  To give you an idea, I flipped through the calendar and here are some entries: Nevada legalized gambling in 1931, The great Chicago fire destroyed all of the city’s vital records, Before 1840 all land in Hawaii was owned by the king, A family tree can whither if nobody tends its roots.  And that’s just four; there are 361 more like ‘em.  Think how much smarter you could be by the end of this year ;-) !

If this calendar would look great on your desk, enter to win!  All you have to do is comment below on this blog entry before December 17th!  We have three of them, so three randomly selected readers who comment will win!  *Good Luck*

Ready, set, write!

Enter to Win this Desktop Calendar by Commenting Below!

What better way to be reminded of where we came from. Let us never forget family and the roads they may have traveled. My son would truly enjoy where “grandma and grandmpa came from”!

Sharon Healy December 10, 2010 at 12:34 pm

This would make a perfect win for me, as I have never won anything yet free, plus what better way to start each day than with new knowledge.

This is an awesome idea for a calendar! I am new to genealogy (or is it geneology? See, I can’t even spell it yet, but my spellchecker showed that I was right the first time!). This calendar sounds like it would have some awesome ideas and encouragements to keep going with my research. I have such a long ways to go . . . especially when I looked at some markers at the “family” cemetery and don’t know who some of the people are and how they are related. Would love to hear from you with any suggestions or web sites to visit.

What a great idea for this kind of calendar! I love Genealogy, but have lots of work to do for our family because no information was ever kept. I love doing research on it. I work where there are lots of people coming in and out of my office and this would be a great asset for myself and all others to see. Would love to win one and hope to buy more for others. Good luck to all winners! Thanks

This is great to write little reminders on

Sandy M December 16, 2010 at 12:40 pm

As the family historian in my family this calendar would be a great assistance to me. Quotes and historical information can be a bonus to those of us studying genealogy. I am determined to make more progress in the next year with finding and organizing more of our family history. What a neat little calendar.

Terri Dell December 16, 2010 at 1:19 pm

I’d love this on my desk, sounds interesting.

DebbyM December 16, 2010 at 3:51 pm

What an awesome gift! I am relatively new to genealogy and this would definetly be a help to me. My family is certainly making this difficult! lol. Not many records and unfortunately my grandparents passed away before I was even born and didn’t speak a lot of English. I fear that I’m not going to get too far.

Thanks for the great giveaway!
Happy Holidays!

cass December 16, 2010 at 5:14 pm
